Its origins

The idea of a map to help us change our mentality came to me many years ago, after having read a book entitled “The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity” (original title: “Allegro ma non troppo”) in which Carlo Maria Cipolla refers to a diagram where people’s behaviour is subdivided into different groups. This ”mathematical vision” of life helped me to conceive a diagram that could evaluate if a project we have in mind will actually be effective or not.

One of the causes that have  thrown our lives into the present chaos we are experiencing (one can be more or less optimistic, but I would challenger anyone to admit that the world is going in the right direction), is the lack the human race has of long-term vision, of an objective evaluation of the result our actions will have.

This fundamental error with the passing of generations has driven us to a situation where there seems to be no way out. And yet this is not so: researchers and psychologists in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Strategic Psychology have proved that a different way of thinking can, in a short length of time, lead to important improvements, because simple solutions even to complicated problems do exist, all we need is to adopt a new way of thinking to turn the situation round to our benefit. Whymap is the result of my efforts: a simple way of changing our mindsets for the better.
